So, on my commute home yesterday I noticed my gas gauge was on E and the orange gas pump was all aglow. I quickly became paranoid I'd run out of gas and the nearest station was 8-10 miles away in stop-and-go Atlanta traffic. Yet when I arrived at the pump I could only squeeze in about .9 of a gallon. Which means the tank was barely half empty. Now, I know that cars have a buffer to keep drivers from running out of gas and I agree that scooters need one too but this seemed a tad extreme. So, what's the best way to manage the gas gauge and avoid the fear that sets in when you think you're about to run out of gas? I'm considering keeping a two gallon gas can in my garage and top the tank off every other day but even that seems like a bit of hassle.
