I'm doing well. Thanks for asking. Working every day and still adjusting to the new normal. Now I'm just waiting to see if my insurance will pay for the foot I need. But I'm truly thankful for the journey I've come so far.

I too admire those who reinvent themselves at an older age.
My mother was such a person too. At age 34 and the Mother of 7 children, she was encouraged by Daddy to fulfill her dream of going to college and becoming a Language Arts teacher. Daddy worked to make it happen. And it did. So I can only imagine the joy you feel and the sense of accomplishment your son feels.
The best is yet to come for him.

Your mama is one special lady Forbes. Tenacity and fixity of purpose are attributes that really wow me. What a great role model you have. Now I know how it is that  are prevailing in your own challenges. I am in awe of you my friend even though we have never met in time and space. This dimension may be that we ever share and yet we are here in dialouge and sharing that we deem real and viable, the dimension of thought. For this value, this blessing I am thankful for this time and space.

Looks like you are doing a jam-up job on the pics, to me, redk Dan I started way before Woodstock and the Carnival Train and I'm not real sure where I fit in, but my last Hog was named "Pearl Jam",and I still love Janis and "Me and Bobby McGee".

I knew you was the real deal Mac. Me: Jimi Hendrix and Simon and Garfunkel. The middle to late 60's were cool times. This was when I got my first bike, a Yamaha Catalina naked UJM 250 parallel twin 2 stroke. Cussed that bike more than any other as it was always hard to start (and the old fashioned way).

Many moons ago I did have a rancher friend who bought a race-ready Yamaha Catalina from a fellow, for transport in and through the lemon and avocado orchards when visiting friends on other ranches. It had been raced on the Ascot styled dirt tracks.
I can't recall how well it held up mechanically, but it was fierce compared to the Honda Trail 90's we were running.
Then my other friend got a Honda 250 Scrambler and I was left in the dust !  lol

Hard to tell if a Helix has enough body panel area to approximate Janis's Porsche, but it might be fun to try.  :-)

Wouldn't that Porsche make a nice gift for the new Graduate ?
:-)

I love that picture Redk. I printed it and will frame it. Did you guys ever see the film called, The Rose?
I almost mentioned Hendrix, he was way cool. Another one I really love to hear is Stevie Ray. He had a really unique style and he could really lay down some blues. I played in a R & R band in the fifties. We never amounted to much, but had a great time. Ever since my middle finger on the left hand got the first two joints removed by my drill press, stupid carelessness on my part, my guitar playing days are over. Like a lot of other things, as we grow older, they fall by the wayside.

Hey Mac,

Gosh, Image surfing on the web can consume more than every bit of free time you ever hoped for. (personal experience !)
Of course, here and there you Must go to the source page and see what the back story is...
It never ends !

I'd probably say, if that's what you enjoy, never give up !
