Never had, nor ever found myself wanting - a screen on my LIKK200i - but I kinda like the idea of this 8" Piaggio flyscreen on the new Liberty. So, ordered one from scooterwest (then found it for $50 less on AF1racing) It
was quickly shipped. For $50 it should have come AirItalia under a parachute.
Piaggio has a simple - and more importantly to me - a very
clean installation system for screens on this scooter. The scooter comes with serious mounting holes under the handlebar panel. You slip in the assembled mounting bars, then attach the screen with 4 screws & 2 black trim pieces...then snug up the compression fittings on the bar ends. No much more complicated than that.
Now, I just have to get used to this "lighted" screen on my before sun-rise rides.
Spent a few hours sorting panel removal, under-seat-bucket looks, and how to do a valve check on this scooter.
I think I will take 'Robots' advice, and release the rear shock to lower the rear wheel & pivot the valve cover up for that testy to reach lower 4th cover screw! I can just reach it under the scoot - or maybe will even drill a 5/16th hole though the lower black front panel for a straight shot with a 5mm T-wrench. Put a black plastic plug in the hole....it's my scooter. I can darn well make life easier for myself if I want to!! . I'll be doing valve checks way too often to admit here, so....
Other than that - the valves should not be too hard. Had to buy a shallow 24mm socket for the oil screen/drain plug, and probably a strap wrench for the goofy shaped spin-on oil filter. It has a slotted head.
I like how I can remove the shock without removing body panels - in case I ever want to look at an upgrade.
Things aren't as easy as on my LIKE200i - but a darn sight less complicated than the late great Burgman.
