Don't know why I keep checking...
« on: October 14, 2017, 10:27:56 AM »
I've not found anything in this screen since the few bits I saw at the first oil change 4 yrs ago!
Always think I'll skip this part of the oil change - but so far have not. Always take a look at these parts and clean them with gas.
This is a new screen - as the orig. Kymco screen was a bit deformed when I first saw it. All 4 parts of this kit are generic & can be found on eBay for less than $10.
Still using T-6 5W-40 SHELL oil - used Amsoil for the first several changes as recommended by the salesman 4 yrs ago.
Not noticeably using any oil between changes every 600 - 800 miles. Manual states to do every 1200.

It never hurts to check things out, even if you don't find anything wrong. Your mind will be at ease knowing that you did the preventative maintenance to keep your scooter purring right along. And besides, if your luck runs like mine, that one time you don't check would be when it all breaks loose and messes up your engine. An ounce of prevention....
