EDIT: it pays to read manual...
« on: September 20, 2017, 10:44:07 AM »
For the first time I have a manual that is clear and helpful in scooter panel removal !!
Buried deep in my downloaded Piaggio manual I discovered clear photos and easy to follow instructions for removing the floor area of my scooter. I no longer am planning to drill and plug an access hole for the buried 4th screw on the valve cover.
A few minutes with a powered screwdriver should make short work of getting that big panel out of the way.
I want to keep making valve checks a regular routine on my scooters -- but I  suspect if the process is too complicated then that won't happen.
So, I'd rather drill an access hole in a black panel,  and plug with a black rubber floor pan drain plug -- than risk skipping valve services.
Now I might not have to.
Yeah, I  do valve checks more often than specified in the manual...

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Astounding! A manufacturer that actually prints a manual someone can use! Good selling point for future.

EDIT !
Manual is wrong!
Spent 2.5 hours this morning removing all to lift off floor panel per the instructions and photos.
That floor is not going anywhere until side panels are removed first. That procedure starts, typical, at the tail light snd works forward!
Very instructional morning. ...with coffee and kitchen chair for breaks...
finding footpeg screws shot in by large Italian with unresolved anger issues, etc.
