3rd attempt for mirrors
« on: March 10, 2018, 07:21:28 PM »
"Helmet mirrors"

Karl gave me the idea for this.
Not sure if his was just a throw away comment - but I was listening.

Ordered a set of Bugeyes helmet mirrors.
If I can find a way to see behind me, with out screwing up the good set of mirrors that came as stock on my Piaggio - I'll be happy.
Time will tell.
In case you're wondering how I will put my helmet under any scooter seat with those mirrors attached - the answer is easy: I have never put my helmet in a scooter. Ever.
My helmet is too big for a my LIKE or the Bestem case; it did not fit in the supposedly cavernous Burgman 400; won't go in the Piaggio; and frankly don't think I ever even tried to put it in my Forza 300.

and my first helmet, XXXXL HJC

Ah me.....

Will post results of the BugEyes

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Next you'll be adding brake lights, visor wipers, and headlights (using the term more literally than usual) to your helmet.

After that I think it's starting fights with the clerk at the DMV, insisting that they should be respectful of your status as a cyborg and take your picture with your helmet on.

Interesting idea... probably better than my thought of putting a set of '80s Ford pickup mirrors on my Spade.  :P

there is no thread on the end of mirror shaft,  it fits into a hole with a wedggy bolt holding it other end of bolt is a right hand tread 10 mm wide,
the end o shaft is 10 mm. could be cut to size and threaded, would be easyer to take a stainless steel rod and make your own

Will be interested in how you find them. Little things like do you get too much light from car lights at night or if they get any wind noise when riding.
