Higher mirrors available? (Super 8 150)
« on: May 06, 2018, 04:45:42 PM »
I have a 2012 Super 8 150, it's run dependably, and I barely have to mess with anything engine-wise.

I'm seeking to know if anyone has found better (higher) mirrors for this model.  I've ridden over a decade on various motorcycles and scooters,  and a major reason I felt secure is--you guessed it--my mirrors.  If I know who's around me, I can stay/move/avoid safely without much fuss.

But this model seems suited for shorter riders, from the mirror point of view.  I have to turn my head down to see behind me, and I often drift when doing so.  I'd not recommend anyone use these mirrors.  I'm only 5'9", so my height isn't an issue.

Does anyone know where decent looking higher mirrors have been sold?

Thanks for your replies.  :)

Hi! People have been sucessful in installing Vespa mirrors with longer stems instead, or there's quite a few mirror extenders available on Aliexpress.com that would do the trick if you'd rather keep the stock units :)

As Viper mentioned, these are the Vespa mirrors on my Like.  They sit wider than the standard mirrors and give a much better quality view as well.

Yeah, I'm with you on importance of good mirrors . I don't rest until I have mirrors that work for me.
Mirror extensions are out there, but I  hate the cobbled look of them. If you have a big scooter shop nearby....take one of your mirrors and stroll the showroom looking for longer stemmed mirrors on other scoots and bikes. Few sellers give meaningful dimensions.
The oval shape mirrors on the Super are going to be tough to replicate. Long stemmed round mirrors are avail. To keep your style mirror I suspect you'll have to go with those billet extenders for the ends of your mirrors.

No idea, but good question for a dealer.
If not, there are adapters for a couple of bucks on ebay.
Some aren't threaded at all, fit with a clamping nut.
