The mighty Geely!!!
« on: July 29, 2010, 01:03:42 AM »
I know there is no place for this (EVER!)  I've had my eyes open for a titled frame for some time now. I have a perfectly good honda aero 80 motor sitting here it needs to go in something. So a C.L. yardsale add $250 geely for sale with title not running. Didn't sale right away so put a bid in for $100 Lucky me it'e all mine! Ha!
I picked it up last night didnt play with it too much checked it had compression and the kickstarter worked and didn't look bad at,all little dirty with a wapping 476 miles on it.

So today the fun begins, pull the seet bucket, its got spark.Check fuel and vac lines they are looking good. Little dirty under the bucket decide to clean before going too much further. check fluids not an ouce in the tank, the 2t oiler or the tranny. Maybe some one took it down for winter.RIGHT!

Ha! I power wash it down and top off all the fluids, new plug.Lets get this fire started! Go to kickstart and appearantly removing seet bucket and washing disables the kick starter It;s broken internally.hmmm it worked fine last night ,no prob theres a battery and jumper cables.Nothing for about an hour It has been sitting for 5 years. A little  starting fluid and choke the hell out of it it runs!!!

I now know were all the fluids went they live in the pipe now. Smoke cloud 1/2 acre's worth  ;D But it is  idling fine and bogs to a stall with any throttle, about this time I realize where all the tranny fluid went it's in the drive way O.K. all is not lost it runs. Lets get at that carb hmmm It's mounted to the front of the cylinder with self destructing philips heads and no possible way to get to them(hidden behind the carb body!) Oh hell let's just adjust the damn thing! The air idle screw is at the max opening possible and the idle is set to the max possible also.Me thinks the  main has come loose.  Maybe removing the plastic will get me a better vantage point Ha!
Snap snap snap Three tabs gone pull a little 4  the ends are now laying in the driveway and i was as gentile as could be.   Oh my god what a piece of work any way it continues. This thing can fly within the imagination of the very insane ,It can leap dust bunnies at a high idle and would most likely be smashed to bits if trying to beat a speeding locamotive at a crossing  ;D I've read about these and it's all true. Notoriously bad Hope the frame can withstand my nh 80  It will be a winter project maybe ? ;D

DO NOT BUY!!! Unless you need a titled frame I think i paid too much allready  ;D It does have me curiouse to see what it could do but a major waste of time, free might be too much, and for those that are looking to by tires IT comes with chin shis That should tell ya something! Althow the s200 comes with kenda's now.Looks like a michilen knock off. way better than the shi's
