I've been parking like that for about 50 years. Only time anything was an issue was once in downtown Birmingham, I parked at the courthouse like that.
The policeman saw me, swung around. Noticed the car ( on the right as pictured above) was over the line in the back of his vehicle and gave him(her?) a parking ticket.
He just looked at me and smiled. I went on about my business and still didn't feed the meter.

I had something close to that happen with people Backing in, I was watching as he came upto the front wheel within two inch's. I went and said something and was told he used a backup camera and not worry I told him move into your spot and get off my front wheel. HE DID.

Yet another reason to never use parallel parking spaces.

I either park on the actual sidewalk out of the way, or in a slant or perpendicular space.
Two things to consider...
1) The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse always gets the cheese.
2) Eagles may soar, but weasels never get sucked into jet engines.
