Wow....
« on: August 15, 2018, 11:38:09 AM »
Just looking at the 2019 Silverados. $65,000 MSRP !

What the heck?!
Ford must be nuts.
I'm keeping mine.....it's around a 2006, or 2009. Maybe a '12.
You can keep meat in it when the A/C is on!
It's a real dadgum truck with an 8 foot bed!
Gettin' to be a real American Truck officiando....sometimes I don't even wash it!

I have looked at some new truck stickers and that was my reaction as well.  Wow!  How can people afford one of these.  I have a 2002 Chevy Avalanche with around 128,000 miles on it.  The MSRP for this truck was 33K back in 2002 so I guess 65K 16 years later shouldn't be such a shock.  I got a great deal and bought it new for 24K.  Now it sits in the driveway for weeks at a time since I ride almost everywhere on my scooters.  I'm hoping to keep it another 15 years or more just using it when I really need a truck.

It only has a 5 foot bed but it will carry two motorcycles.   It hauled my KLR650 and my buddies DR650 to Utah and back.

I never needed a truck as long as I had a VW bus.
Every tree in my yard came home sticking out the sun roof of our VW bus.
All 6 kids came home from the hospital in a VW. (2 of them in a snow storm in Massachusetts)

And after a few decades when it was time to sell....

My 2000-something Silverado is OK, but it ain't a VW.

A Ford Silverado? Lol. But yes, the 150’s can run up into the 60k plus range as well if almost fully equipped. Imagine how I feel inspecting them, and fixing them and not being able to afford one.

Why would a person need seats that massage their back and butt while they are driving? It almost put me to sleep on a simple test drive. [emoji23][emoji23]
