OK to burn synth oil?
« on: November 26, 2018, 11:42:17 PM »
Boys at the county police repair garage burn used oil for heat.
Wondered if I  should mention that my anonymous donations are used synthetic oils?
I've seen the cheap stuff they use in the oil changes.....doesn't actually smell like french fries or fish...but ...sure ain't synthetics.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

about a mile from my home the way the crow flies. I was told the county highway department burns in their garage for heat. Make sense.
This is a common practice. Factories send chemicals and used oils to certain places to be incinerated.

Full synthetic automotive oils are over 50% Fossil oil and true 100% synthetic oils like PAG AC oil are burnable anyway....
