New Belt On (question)
« on: September 29, 2018, 01:54:23 PM »
Is it normal when you put a new belt for the bike to sound and feel slightly different? :) Or is it just in my  head.

I would say that is a yes. It should actually have better acceleration and top speed.

Especially if your speed loss was caused by the belt!

nice, have not went out yet to check my high-speed.  It sure does feel like I have better acceleration!

My belt was in really bad shape.  A few teeth were missing!  They said my rollers were all wore to with flat parts on each one. So I ordered a set of rollers $100 bucks later! geeez and still may get hit with customs! :P I have to find better solutions Karl. :)

Cleveland is nice this time of year. (well, no it's not ) so...
How far is it to nearest U.S. Kymco dealer?
Ride down, buy your parts, scream bloody murder if they try and pat you down on the way back up?
String the rollers into a necklace, wrap your helmet with your genuine Navajo kymco belt.
Get an American friend with a drone to air-drop the bag of parts in your yard.
Remember, if taken into custody by the RMP boys in pink ....these tips came from the Honda scooter forum.

Yeah such a huge difference in the throttle!  Even the bike idle vibrates like it did when I first got the bike! Huge difference. Have yet to try the full top speed but I bet it is back!

Another question.  When accelerating at take of really hard would that be harder on the belt and cause it to ware faster?

"REALLY hard, every time"...probably not a good idea on many parts. But, yes ----- "brisk" is good for the clutch pads. Gets the clutch locked in and keeps slippage to a minimum. Just my thinking, maybe others think differently.

Brisk is a good description! Keeps the judge ring to a minimum or eliminates it.
