Sometime it takes my DT300i awhile to start, it cranks and cranks and finally once it starts I have to "rev" it or else it will die immediately.

What is the issue?  I think the long cranks is due to the battery because if I charge my bike with my tender, it starts right away.  I plan on replacing the battery immediately.

The only time mine's ever failed to fire up on the second revolution is when the battery was on the way out. It could be many things, but that's a great place to start.

Sounds like the battery is causing the issue. I recommend Motobatt, Yuasa, Katana or SSB brands.

Battery or system voltage less than 9.5 while cranking means no spark. Will crank over quite fine but simply will not fire up.

This model should start and run within two revolutions, hot, cold, summer, winter, seaside, mountains, full moon or new moon. Any cranking beyond is a waste of battery, starter and time.
