Replacing a Oil Filter Screen Cap

First time oil change on my 2009 Kymco Grand Vista - I was an idiot and turned the wrench in the wrong direction and broke the oil filter screen cap - sort of.  The oil drain plug still screws in, but the cap part of it snapped off the bolt itself. 

I'm having some trouble finding a replacement from someone in the United States - I guess my question is whether its worth it to replace it?  It doesn't seem to be leaking at all.  I'm curious whether I should leave it as is or whether I should replace it.

Look up the part, copy the number, call them.

The threaded part will back out if you ride. Says so in Murphy's Law! Replace!

I cast my vote for replace it's not worth taking a chance of it unscrewing.

Whatever you do, rather don’t get one of the cheap replicas from China. I ordered a cheap plug from China and it fits - but the threaded part of the plug is shorter than the threaded part of the original plug. Which means changes are better that the thread on the plug or sump could be damaged when the plug gets tightened.
