(Hey!
Walmart sells 62 kinds of magic sauce across 7 feet of shelf space !
They wouldn't be duping us would they?!
Filling stations I frequent are mentioned by BMW and VW (& the PTA & AA, I think) as being good.
All top tier pumps have all the additives we need for strong healthy & happy scooters.)

I broke down and took it to a place that repairs Kymcos.  The diagnosis is that it needs a whole new carburetor.  Any suggestions on where to buy one online?  I looked on eBay and couldn't find anything in the US.  OEM is preferred but a quality non-OEM is fine too.  Thanks for the help.

If you get one from Taiwan, it will take a few weeks, but the price is going to be better. That would be the best way to get one.

I bought a set of different size jet cleaning wires/files in a nice metal packet for $1.98 on ebay (from China, of course).

Do you have any recommended sites where I can get one from Taiwan?  The cheapest new online I could find was $195.

On April 6, you posted problem fixed after carb cleaning.  Did something else happen after that?  Why did you take it  to the shop again?

Unfortunately, yes.  I thought the issue was fixed but it wasn't.  After the carb cleaning, it was less frequent but still bogged down.  I took it to a Kymco dealer and their diagnosis was a new carburetor.  They wanted $450 to replace it but I ordered a new OEM for $185.  It arrives today and I'll put it in this weekend.  Hopefully, that will end this saga.

This one can be wrapped up.  Finally!   New carburetor ($180) and about 30 minutes to install.  Took it on a long ride to work and runs like a top.  Since we skipped Spring in Michigan, it's ready for Summer.

That is great! Clean up the old one if you still have it. One or more of the passages are probably plugged. Or peddle it to someone who can clean it and use it.

Thank you very much for posting your "solved!" report!
Glad you got it sorted.

Did you get your new carb through the dealer or on line?

Or you can toss it and move on. It's an old broken carburetor. Why do you want to keep it around or sell it to someone who somehow got the idea it has value and then is out that money and time before they break down and buy a new carburetor and fix the problem.

Only thought I had was it takes time to open up clogged passeges in the carb body. Soaking a couple of weeks in the carb cleaner bucket (with the parts basket, blue can) usually softens the clogs enough to blast 'em out with air. Jets cleaned and still same problem, passages clogged.
