Winter is riding season in Alabama.
« on: January 30, 2019, 12:07:35 AM »
Yes it does get cold in Alabama and occasionally snows but so far this year I have gone riding 27 out of 29 days and I was out of town one of those days or it would be 28 out of 29.

Some recent pictures:

12" wheels work just fine on gravel.

And OK on mud:

I wasn't the only one out riding.

You're a man to be reckoned with, sir.  I'm impressed.  Down here in Lower Alabama it is currently 27°, but soon as it breaks 40 I'm bundling up and rolling.  At least we don't have snow down here, so as we used to say in Maine "Any day the plows ain't out"...

I lived in Maine for 4 years.  I rode every month while I was there.

Wait a minute:  used to live in Maine, now you live in Alabama....  Are you me in a parallel dimension?  I'd say we got some story swapping to do...

Up there I'd ride in Winter on the odd day the sun would allow, then spend hours trying to get the salt off my bike.  But once I bought the KLR I didn't care about that, ain't no chrome on a dirt bike.

I lived in Bath, which being on the coast was much warmer than inland.  I had some great winter rides.  No one else around there rode in the winter.  They must have thought I was crazy especially since I had Florida Tags on all my bikes.
