Too long since I visited the tires
« on: March 11, 2019, 09:09:25 PM »
("Roadcraft' of 'Technical' ?)

It has been a stupidly long winter for us - many cold days and below 0°F nights....and in the lives of my 4 scooter tires.
I hate dragging out the pump, crawling on the ground on each side because of the brake discs, clipping that stupid air hose onto the tire, losing too much air trying to remove it & starting over! Get too rough with that tire valve stem - you'll have worse problems.(filling station air hoses are a breeze!)

I can't really tell by just looking.
ALL 4 tires needed air.
I did wonder yesterday why my roads were smoother than last December.  Nope - tires' down.

Next snow is a full 10 days away -- looking good for more riding this week!!

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

solution for air in scooter tires---1. get compressor and tank ($39.95 Harbor Freight)  2. real short  air chuck.

3. change valves at next tire change---Honda has real short/straight/high speed valve in their parts chain.

This set up allows straight shot at valve----no air loss doing it.

I use "Ride On" as balance medium and it is supposed to seal small leaks-----works for me, both balance/or air loss in normal use.

Chucks cheap---had to buy two until I got one that did what I wanted it to.
