This is why I always carry a roll of good, blue painter's tape! (for the top edge of the visor )
Sun is dead on the horizon!

Yeah, Karl, works exactly like the sun visor in your car. Blocks the direct sun, still see the road.
The sunglass flip down thing in my helmets just darkens the world (and anything in tree shadows, etc.) - but big 'ol sun is still right there glaring! T'is why I went to the tape.

I used to do that on longer trips with my Sportster. I kept some 2" blue tape rolled onto a breaker bar along with some duck tape. (Kept the breaker bar in my duffel bag.) Just peeled off a little piece whenever I needed it.
