Greetings, My New Friends.

I registered on this forum a month or so ago. I was looking for some specific info on a few different scooters. Found some great info on this site, which helped me decide what to buy.
I settled on a lightly used '08 Grandvista 250. So far, I'm pretty happy with my new ride.
I had to admit that I'm just getting too old to be pushing a 750lb motorcycle in and out of my garage, and, in and out of parking spaces, so, a few days ago I had to say goodby to my old friend, my '83 Goldwing.
The GV250 joins my '05 ETon Beamer, 50cc moped, that i picked up last fall.
I'll stop rambling on about myself for now, but I'll probably post a few questions in other threads, and, if i can figure out how, post a pic or 2 of my past and present rides.
Anyone in SE MI want to meet up and go for occasional rides, let me know.

Oh, absolutely, yes, welcome to this forum! I suspect the GoldWing was really difficult to part with but you have made the step a lot of, ah....more SEASONED riders have made considering the weight factor. The riding season in pure Michigan has to be spectacular! Since you have already mastered the mysterious art of posting pictures like Stig, we will expect no less than stunning ride reports soon! With pictures!

Thanks for the welcome. @Stig, to answer your question about Goldwing maintenance, I owned my '83 wing for 7 years. From 2012 until a few days ago. Just regular scheduled stuff, like fresh oil, keep the cables lubed, change air filter. I had no engine issues at all. I expect, and hope, that she will keep running for at least another 10-20 years.

Hey, @Crossbolt, don't know about "Stunning" ride reports, but, I do plan an a trip of about 200 miles to Northern Michigan in the near future. I'll have to find the proper thread to post a road report

Welcome, "A"!

I love the GV250 so much that I own two of them. Tip: You might be more comfortable if you remove the lumbar support thingy and move your rump back an inch or two. It made all the difference for me. And those retractable mirrors allow anxiety-free lane splitting, which is legal here in CA. It's amazing the difference a couple of inches makes (and the wife agrees).

I rode a '78 GL1000 for years, loved it...until the (four!) carbs needed rebuilding.

Another tip: The side panels under the floor board are a nightmare to remove if you don't know the secret. After unscrewing the front and rear Phillips headed machine screws and pushing the panel ends clear of the sockets they are in...you must move the panels backwards about 3/16th of an inch by twisting a flat bladed screw driver between the edge of the panel and the stationary body part. If you don't do this you will break off two of the "hook" tabs on the rear of the panel.  Then you gently pull the panels straight to the side, 90 degrees to the fore and aft axis.

Whoever came up with this tab system should be slowly and painfully put to death.

The LIKE has some of those hook tabs - easy IF know how they work!
Fortunately a guy on youtube posted a video very soon after the scoot was released in this country.
