Yesterday I changed oil for the third time on the scooter and this time I decided just to open the drain plug at the left of the the engine to drain the oil. During the previous oil changes I had a close look at the meshed filter thingy and apart of some oil on it, I couldn’t find any reason why it actually needed any  “cleaning” every 2000 Km. So I decided just to open the big drain plug every 4 or 6k to clean the  filter.
This made oil changing on the scooter even easier and less time consuming.

So I just wondered - do all owners always clean those “filter” thingy’s  during oil changes ?

Over 79,000km on my DT300 and I have never found any bits in the oil strainer. There is no reason to check often as the strainer is unlikely to clog up. That's why I've only done it rarely.

Yeah, I check it ever' time on my Kymco LIKE200i.
Still looking for that panel screw I dropped when working on the Honda Forza 4 years ago.
No joy, yet.

No---bike now has 7,500 miles---checked a few times, future plan to check/look at every 10,000 miles.  Never anything in it.  Better change oil often on XTown 300i as crankcase capacity only one qt.

have never found any bits in the oil strainer
Just a reminder that the screen strains the oil pump inlet flow, so any particles should collect on the exterior surface.  Anything on the inside ended up there when the strainer dropped down into the oil draining outflow.

Sym/Lance 125 engine has original equipment magnets in both the side and bottom plugs . . video.

Thanks for the comments, there are a a few Sym dealers in our area and I hope the Sym magnetig drain plugs will fit and can be used on my scooter as well. If it fits, I will probably just check the meshed filter thingy every 10K or so.
