Good luck to the farmers. My son told me up north a lot less corn has been planted due to whet weather conditions, and corn price already started rising because less corn has been planted this season.
My son sent me a photo yesterday - the first corn they planted (in Iowa) is about shoulder height at this stage , but most of the corn they planted are at about knee height on average. They could only start planting late during the reason, because the soil was simply too whet to start planting. When they eventually managed to start planting, they worked around the clock to get corn seed in the ground - and when it became too late in the season to plant corn, they started planting soya beans.

Global warming is going to have a major impact on farming across the globe. My son told me in the area he find himself (Iowa) farmers have recorded more rainfall than usual during this decade. This have a major impact on planting activity during the planting season.
In South Africa we experience less and less rainfall, and extremely hot weather conditions. Some parts of our country are becoming desert very fast. Some farmers already went bankrupt, had to leave their farms, or simply had to close their gates and leave their farms. Things have changed forever.
