I just looked at what a piston stopper is.  As best as i can tell, it is a device that threads into to the spark plug socket using the plug's threads and the other end presses against the piston head to stock the piston from moving.

I am not willing to risk the threads of my spark plug nor am I willing to punch a hole into the end of the piston.  I KNOW i am fully capable of generating enough force to punch an eraser sized hole in my piston no matter how thick I think it is.

I have twisted the driven square part off of three...count them...three ratchet wrench handles and two adapters in the part month using nothing but my hands on tools, no motors.

You wont damage the thread if it is screwed in properly, but my concern was about cracking the piston. I do have one but have not used it, I find it easier to use the clutch holder. But surely your variator nut wouldnt be that tight, would it?

Unusual that a ratchet should be stronger than the square drive.

A device to hold the clutch housing while you remove and replace the nut, in the case of the GPX250, 90 f/lb. Works fine on the variator drive face.
