Riding Kymco scooters
« on: August 03, 2019, 09:12:02 PM »
My 2019 Kymco XTown 300i ABS bought this spring now has about 8,000 miles, which is not much by my usual riding practices, bike has been to 14 states so far-----couple of reasons I am not riding like I normally do---I am 80, and tired of riding in the hot humid south and after riding over 1.5 million miles since 1955, now find some stretches boring.

Recent trip to Mich UP did not see any Kymco dealers nor any Kymcos on the road---saw 2 in pickup bed (wimp?) and maybe one on trailer.  But nobody out riding.

These are nice bikes/up to this point very trouble free/nicely designed, screwed together.  Mine somewhat tire sensitive---but a few more miles will replace front now OEM, rear Michelin City Grip with Michelin Power Pure SC  matched pair.

Wish more people rode.

I'm preparing for a long distance road trip from Philadelphia to Nova Scotia to ride the Cabot Trail. I'm planning on leaving next Monday. I'll be riding alone, but one of things I do to lessen that is to motovlog my trip. I'll have two cameras mounted on my bike - one on my helmet, and on various parts of the trip I'll also mount 360 degree cams as well.

I guess my point is by chronically your trip you'll see more things and possible make more out of it, or by sharing what you shot to inspire others to do the same.

I have ridden about 8500 miles so far this year.  I expect to pick up the pace for the rest of the year with a few long trips.  I do have four bikes (I started the year with 5 but sold my Super 8).  I expect my Like150i to be my highest mileage bike this year.

The grass will NOT grow under the feet of either John or the klaviator! I think it is just grand you guys ride the wheels off! Like Stig, he is out EVERY morning! Grass does not grow near him, either!

Well, klav, I will be heading to Rocket City for the hamfest on the 17th and 18th. Gonna try and stay in some hindu hilton in athens on the 16th. This will be my "big trip" for the year again! Big deal for you and John! About 350 miles out and back! You two can probably do that in a day! Har, har!

I'll be heading off to Maggie Valley on the 18th to do some riding in the beautiful NC mountains.  There will be a few scooter riders from ADV joining me.  It should be nice and cool up in the mountains.  Highs in Maggie Valley have been in the 70s most of the summer.  Come join us if you are interested.  Info is here:  https://advrider.com/f/threads/summer-fall-south-east-beat-the-heat-scooter-ride.1395888/
