Downtown 350 overheat
« on: January 05, 2020, 05:51:44 PM »
I tried tou change coolant in my scooter. so i drained my old liquid and put water to clean the hoses .but when i did that and start the engine for the take air bubbles out my engine was show me 3 lines of engine temperature .(that means the engine overheat).so i turn immediately when i saw it and wait until its cool and turn on again and its overheat again.so.. i drained the water and put the green coolant. Next day i was go to the mechanic to fix it and change the coolant propaly. i dont told him my engine is overheat, but after that my scooter dont overheat again. My question is if my engine cold harm from my overheat the overheat was for few seconds and i dont pull any gas on... And why my engine was overheating if i was put water into radiator..

What you did not do that your mechanic did do was "burp" the system after filling to get the air trapped. The reason it showed overtemp so quickly was because of trapped air. It is a Kymco. I would not worry about such a quick overtemp.

Ask your mechanic what he did and how he did it then you do it his way.
