Was quite fond of the Velocette Thruxton in its day, but loved the Trumpet too

I had the most fun riding with my sons in the dirt on two different Hondas. One was an XR200 and the other was a TL250. Not sure which one I liked best because they both did different things very well.

That Triumph is beautiful.

Triumphs nice to look at, horrible to own when ridden a lot (20-30.000 miles a year)  they shook them selves apart---I know I had new '61 TR5AR 500 cc, 1962 new 6T Thunderbird, actually nice bike, but too many design draw backs....and things not worked out by maker.   The British bike industry got what it deserved...death.

Honourable exception being the Hinckley reincarnation of the Triumph marque! I’ve owned various models since the mid-90’s and they have been full of character, largely fault-free and a joy to own. Current Trumpet is a 2012 Street Triple R and it does everything that I need.

I went for a ride on my K-Pipe last week, one day when the temps hit 55°.  Paved roads were ok, but 50% of my riding is gravel roads, they thawed and had a layer of slimy goop. I've been in sleeting conditions that weren't any worse.

Thankfully the underpowered K-Pipe don't have the power to spin up the rear wheel, nor the engine braking to lose traction

ya, I'd say the K-Pipe is my favorite "sleeting" bike
