OK so my MXU 150 has been standing unused for the winter, my solar charger let me down and the battery is flat (new one on order) so obviously it will not start on the button, but it will start on the kicksarter. However when I put it into gear it stalls - I have the left hand brake applied and it is in neutral.......the digital display on the dash does not come on, the neutral light works. By accident I found that if the hazard lights are switched on, the dash lights up and it doesn't stall when I engage gear......
Im guessing the dash etc is finding earth through the Hazard lights circuit?
The thing is usable with the hazards blinking away, but I would like to sort it out so it works correctly...(Ive removed the indicator (Turn Signal) bulbs so just the dash lights blink...)
So far Ive cleaned and greased the battery and starter solenoid terminals and cleaned and greased the earth terminal on the engine.....Ive also accessed all the multi plugs under the front bodywork, sprayed with WD40 and reassembled with a bit of grease....same with the dash multi plug and have sprayed Wd40 into the handlebar switches.......
Any suggestions where to look next?
