Failed electrics....possible fuse problem?
« on: March 18, 2009, 07:25:05 PM »
Hope someone can help! leaving work this evening I sarted the scoot up as normal and I noticed that my headlight was not working but thought it safe to ride as it was still light with good visibility. I indicated left to turn on to the highway. The indicators worked for a few seconds and then stopped blinking, so I pulled into the layby and turned the ignition off. When i turned the ignition back on none of the electrics were working and subsequently the scooter would not start.

When I got home (I jumped a bus!) I thumbed throught the manual (which is pretty useless!) and could not find any answers to my problem. I am guessing that the fuse is burned out. The problem is the manual provides an illustration of the fuse box etc but does not explain where the fuse box is actually located nor how it can be accessed. There are 2 replacement fuses cliped on to the battery housing so I am guessing again that the fuse box is near the battery. Does anyone know where the fuse box is located and how it can be accessed? Also can anyone tell me where the spark plug is located and how this also can be accessed (manual not very helpfull regarding location/access for this as well) as I may as well check it while I am at it!!

Happy scootering!!

Folks I have resolved this issue myself. The fuse boxes (x2) are located  close to the top right hand side of the battery (throttle side) and are about 2 ins in length by 1/2 in in width and are sort of cylindrical in shape and made from opaque white plastic. They are pushed out of sight between the battery casing and the foot plate base. You need to unclip the box to remove/replace the fuses. Replacement fuses are clipped on to the top of the battery (to the rear of the battery towards the seat end). Be sure to buy some replacement fuses in case the problem arises again......

Happy scootering!!! ;D
