Rear Tire wear Michelin City Grip
« on: March 04, 2020, 06:22:35 PM »
City Grip rear has been on my XTown 300i for about 5,000 miles.   Today noticed some rear wheel funny feeling---Givi E-46 box, 8.5 lb Dog in it----careful check of tire, checking air pressure, look at tire....it is starting to wear square.....like most of the scooter tires on the market and still has 4-5000 miles in it.  Fix=will replace with Michelin Power Pure SC, based on them and my experience with them on both Burgman 400 and SilverWing 600---they wore round right to the end---one went over 10,000 miles rear of Burgman 400.

As long time rider, I do not like funny feeling rear---when all other factors working.  Big Givi box can also affect rear end feeling----I have small box and may put it back on.  Dog still fits.

Made the following corrections: put smaller Bestem box back on, it is lighter, narrower, than Givi and includes passenger back rest. Took off Laminar Lip and made sure tire pressures are at maker's recommendation.

Test ride this AM----I want to run both front and rear tires out to their serviceable limit.
