Loose mirror
« on: June 06, 2020, 01:04:36 PM »
I am trying to fix loose mirror on my 2013 Xciting 500. Should the turn signal wire be disconnected first and will locktight help?

The lock nut should hold it. You don't have to disconnect the signal wire IF you are careful not to pinch it with your wrench.

OK, I understand. Use Loctite blue, then. That should do it.

You will never be able to remove it with JB weld, if you break a mirror you will have to purchase a complete unit it screws into. What is worn out the threads on the mirror or threads in the perch? Are you loctiting the lock nut or the mirror threads or both?
In parts 200S and Grand Vista and my motorcycles 2 CS BMW'S and one GS BMW.

Sold-32 Kymco scooters of various sizes this summer.

I tried the blue locktite on the threads and the perch seemed solid at first but loosened off .
