Wiring diagram for DT300i error
« on: May 16, 2020, 08:22:12 PM »
Thw wiring for the actual bike (2013 DT300i) is different than the wiring diagram. The low current start relay (Starter Mag 1) the diagram says powers the high current starter relay (Starter Mag) does do that, sort of. The difference is the little relay is activated by the key on, not the start push button. Now, why the little relay is actually there is a mystery to me at this point. I got tired and discouraged and just put everything back together.

The project was intending to install an additional relay to kill the lights during start sequence. Later, maybe but not today.

headlights ???? why don't you install a switch on the green ground wire for the headlights, open line no lights,
other thought ,  remove high beam light ,  when you start bike put on high beam, don't forget to install spot lights,.
the spots replace the high beam lights, and is much better, and 1/5 the wattage

I have installed a switch on the low beam lights relay to kill 'em. Thought one more step would be neat.

Found a wiring diagram for a DT300i that shows EXACTLY the wiring scheme as my bike! So it is NOT an error but it still makes no sense to do it that way. What it does expose is there is no inscription on the diagram(s) to indicate which year and market that diagram represents. Most cases it makes little concern.
