Getting new battery in
« on: May 12, 2020, 03:07:59 PM »
I need some help, my 2008 Grand Vista came out of storage with a dead battery, It looks like it didn't keep a charge while on trickle charger there.

I took it out and got a replacement. Now I cannot get it back into the battery compartment after connecting. There are 2 covers, I can't get the smaller one into place.

I'd appreciate any help. Pictures would be a bonus. Thanks

yes, 50328 looks like the smaller cover
Ill have to take a closer look to see if 5032A is what the battery sits in

I think it goes like this battery is under the seat towards the back - pushes into 5032A after connecting cables to battery, then 50328 screws into the 5032A, then 50326 sandwiches them all together (even though I think 50326 & 5032A looks a bit different)

now to take the battery out and make sure it actually fits in that 5032A - I am starting to wonder

Yeah, could not really wrap my head around even WHERE all that went but you cleared that up saying in the rear of the underseat tub. I got a replacement battery for my Downtown and it was SO tight although its dimensions were supposedly the same as OEM! Those cables on all Kymcos we have had absolutely had to be just so for everything to reassemble.
We are standing by for your next report!

Yup battery is the wrong size. Just took it out looked at the box nothing in the way. So put it back for now without cover. Calling my regular shop to order correct one.
I really like the place where I have my winter storage but scooters aren't really their thing.
Thanks everyone
