After I found out my dealer wanted $387 for that first service - I bought a cyclepedia manual and set to with my old VW aircooled tools! Once I learned how to find TDC on the LIKE I was off and running.
Yesterday I checked the valves for the 10th time in 8 yrs....and, since I was in the neighborhood, spun in a new Iridium NGK.
Other than attempting to set fire (again*) to my scooter - and forgetting to put the plug cap on - it went smoothly.
Valve gap hasn't changed in two years.
It is almost criminally easy to access the valves on a Kymco LIKE200i

*couple of years ago I forgot to remove the paper towels which I'd placed under the valve cover to catch the oil drips.
The next day, after a nice ride, I smelled some trash burning in the park where I had stopped to have my coffee.
The paper was all black and scorched - but it hadn't yet ignited
