Freshest battery come w/ acid bottles? ?
« on: August 13, 2020, 09:21:05 PM »
4th winter of cold starts & riding coming on for my Liberty's little 6Ah battery here in Ohio.
Thinking of a new battery.
The batteries with the acid bottles will get me the freshest battery possible,  yes?. ..or not necessarily?
Any downside to this type of battery?

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Yes, batteries with acid pack good.
Batteries sitting serviced with acid, unless rotated or on constant charger rotation, not a good thing

I have been using AGM batteries in all my BMW'S bikes and Kymco scooters and very surprised at how long they last. On the BMW GS I decided on a Lithium battery but to soon to tell how I will like it.  I will never go back to lead acid in bikes and scooter's.
In parts 200S and Grand Vista and my motorcycles 2 CS BMW'S and one GS BMW.

Sold-32 Kymco scooters of various sizes this summer.

Yup.  They work great.
I've used those exclusively for a while. (From YUASA via Amazon)
Pretty easy to setup, then trickle charge for the initial charge and GTG for years.

Just like any battery keep it on a tender while not in use if ya can and should last as well or better than the OEM bar weirdness.

Far as Lithium goes.  Haven't used 'em.  Read too much and saw too many reports about cold weather issues, and they're expensive.  Maybe if I lived in FL or something..

I’ve not been tempted away from Yuasa yet Stig they always seem to reliably deliver 4+ years of life without am Optimate connected.
