Thinking about why people do not ride or have not ridden a lot in past. #1 time...having to work #2 money usually related to being married #3 little interest....and as we get older....never done it before.
I am blessed, first 12 years in Air Force, worked scheduled year in advance 6 days on 3 off---single, stationed in interesting place (Europe/Asia) lots of time to ride. Once in awhile we would get in a member of the married mafia( as leader that run the military) who thought single people had too much time off. Idiot. USAFSS schedule proven that anymore time on the machines we did, could drive you NUTS! Later the 30 days off leave invited lots of riding.
Same married mafia didn't like motorcycles and made rules to make it hard to own and ride bike---these are the guy, who when they retire get a riding mower as Mama will not let then have bike.
Later retiring after 20 years/worked by Army and USMC for 30 years---best USMC, Safety Manager USMCA Iwakuni---lived in Field Grade BOQ---had 2 maids, one to clean up, the other to wash clothes and pick up beer cans. Brought my Helix in during storms. We had own mild porn channel, too. The govt. vacation and work schedule very generous-----lots of riding time.
And of course have always used my bike/scooter as prime transport---almost any weather. I like it.
