New Models
« on: August 07, 2020, 08:16:16 PM »
Do you guys think there is any way to convince Kymco to offer their other models (European/Asian) here in the US? I would especially like to see the following models here.

People S300
Downtown 350 TCS
AK 550
Xciting S400i
Agility 300
Like S 125
People S 125
Like EV

We really miss out on some great scooters and very competitive in pricing. You definitely get a lot of bang for your buck comparatively speaking when you compare these scooters to the other major manufacturers. The Kymco dealer near me ran out if the 50, 150, and 200 Like scooters this year. Many people in my area or RI are getting out more and discovering the joys of scooter riding, especially when we have such beautiful drives along the coastline. A lot of my motorcycle friends cant believe how fast my Kymco Xciting 400i is and how easy it is to ride and maintain. I guess the stigma of riding a 'scooter' vs. a motorcyle is hard to break. Nonetheless, IF any of the KYMCO dealers/representatives read this forum, please consider trying to bring some more of these models over. I would definitely consider trading in my 2018 400i for an AK550...

I called Kymco and asked if the US would get the AK550 for 2021 and they stated they didn't know. This was about 3 months ago.

Truth---scooter market is dead in US----Importers only want to bring in those that will sell in volume.

Not completely but small displacement seems where there is the most demand so that's what they stock. The dealer I use only sells the agility 50cc and 125cc.

Now I see a lot of people on motorized bicycles gas and electric running around town which will further hurt sales.  80cc motor kits can be bought for a $120 with free shipping along with a cheap bicycle from Wallyworld and you have transportation on the cheap.

A 400 Kymco priced at 2/3rds of a Burgman 400 should be a headache for Suzuki.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.
