Aren't many kids riding the bus these days..
« on: September 11, 2020, 02:32:48 PM »
Was taking pics of the beans this morning....

when a school bus went by. Darn few kids sitting in there. This high school is just a 2 miles down the road.

When I turned around, saw that this pretty ...is a Borzoi?...came across the field to see what I was up to. The people who live here have at least a half doz. of them. It's pretty cool to see them all out romping in this big field some mornings.

Busses here in Staffordshire remain pretty empty too. I'm not sure how that will hold up as the weather turns...

It’s compulsory to wear masks on public transport here in the UK.

I haven’t noticed how many are on the busses yet. I’m just glad I’m no longer in that situation.

In Tallahassee, Florida they require distancing and masks. But about 1/3 of the students are doing distance learning. I believe in Some adjacent Georgia school districts they aren’t distancing. They are simply requiring the WINDOWS to remain open. I’m wondering how that will work out when the weather changes. I remember when we had only ONE window that was stuck down, and the WHOLE BUS was freezing.

The parents were given a choice between online learning and attending classes. When I was at the register of deeds office her oldest wanted to attend his senior year while her two younger kids elected for online learning.

A lot of parents depend on school so they can go to work. Child care is almost prohibitly expensive, if you can find it.
In parts 200S and Grand Vista and my motorcycles 2 CS BMW'S and one GS BMW.

Sold-32 Kymco scooters of various sizes this summer.

in my neck of the woods, there was a lot of home schooling to begin with, all my closest neighbors are home schoolers, my GFs daughter home schooled her kids.  The public school bus goes by my house way before I am up and around.  according to the schedule I see on Facebook, about 6:05am

It’s sad that parents have to decide whether to do in person vs virtual classrooms based on Childcare costs rather than whether they feel comfortable with the safety protocols or not.

Although we have not invested in excellent child care facilities - as have most other civilized countries, the covid thing would make that a real struggle these days.
I spent a month building a children's care room in a county building, where mother's could place their kids while they kept their appointments with case workers. The room included  a mini-sized rest room, and was staffed by 2 child care workers.
The state de-funded the program (minimum pay for 2 women) after a year....and children were no longer permitted to accompany the parent.
