Drain gas from Grand Vista 250

I need to drain the gas from my Kymco Grand Vista 250 in order to ship it to my daughter who is stationed out of the country. How can I do this? I cannot syphon it. Tried that.

I have not tried this on a scooter, but have done this on a motorcycle.
That tank should have a little sump with the gas line (petcock if it has one) clamp the tube and then disconnect from the carburetor.  Then release the clamp and drain into a gas can.
Don't forget to drain the carb.  The carburetor should have a drain screw near the bottom of the bowl.  There may even be a tube attached to the drain.
Wear rubber gloves and eye protection in a well ventilated space.

you will need to apply vacuum to the vacuum line of the fuel tap, (petcock) to enable the fuel to flow. You can do this by sucking on the vacuum line.

This is a good question that I hoped had more information in the replies.

I plan to use Sta-Bil in the gas this winter, but would like to drain the carb's float bowl.

I do not  know how to get at the carb, even ....

The Grand Vista has an underfloor tank and needs an electric fuel pump to fill the higher placed carburetor. Drawing:

The drawings help a lot.  I didn't know about the fuel pump and was
wondering how the gas went from the tank to the carb.

Now, Do you know of an electrical schematic for the Grand Vista 250 ?

I found one for the People 250 and hope it is similar.  I'm not sure that it has a fuel pump.

Sorry, I don't have the wiring scheme.
Both People 250 (with and without "i") have a fuel pump.

Then the next question is how do I get access to the carb to drain the float bowl ?

I looked in the storage compartment and did not see any way to remove the "floor" to get at the carb.

Open the seat bench.
Remove some screws at the bottom of the "met in box" (maybe on its frame too and in the hinge box/seat)
Take out seat bench with met in box.

But (because of your last question): You want to do it yourself?
Don't try this while your engine is still hot!

I just winterized my scoot today, and the instructions on the bottle of Sta-Bil say to just run the engine for five minutes after adding the stuff to the tank, so draining the carb shouldn't be necessary.

If you use Sta-Bil, then draining your float bowls should not be necessary.

I put Sta-Bil in the gas when I buy it at the gas station.

I just want to know more about the new scooter and didn't see a way to get to the carb.

So far (<100 miles) I am very pleased with the ease of starting with the Grand Vista 250.
