I took the family back through the State Park to see the Halloween decorations all the 100's of campers put up on this special w/e. Wife's friend encouraged us to visit their camp site.
You see the best lights/decorations at dusk....while you can still see all the camping kids in the road. Even at 10mph is it tricky not collecting a kid or two.
Anyway - D E E R really like dusk!
Driving 5 miles back through the park to the camping area we passed at least a half doz. groups of deer standing in and along the roadside. Must have been 40 or more.
This is the park that I used to get comfortable riding my new scooter 8 yrs ago.
25MPH park speed limit, few cars - it was a great place to learn. And - yeah buddy did I see a lot of deer early in the mornings!!
Never had a problem with them.
I figure I'd have to be very unlucky for a hidden deer to bolt from roadside vegetation and come into contact with my scooter during my dark pre-sunrise rides to my coffee village.
The closer the vegetation is to the road - determines how much I slow from my 28>32mph cruise.
I'm always fully armored with leather gloves, full face modular helmet and 9 pcs of the best Klim D30 pads.
If we collide - we're going to be sore and the scooter will be skinned up....I know that.

would be nice to have these twin always-on headlights again!....those babies were amazing - especially after I aimed them properly for my weight.
