CAT gets a lot of attention.....
« on: October 25, 2020, 06:06:15 PM »

This cat is a real manipulator. But I'm not going to start packing cat food with me at 6:00AM.

Daughter thinks it's 'precious', for Pete's sake..

We 'inherited' a feral cat (much to the disgust of our resident moggie), one summer, a few years ago. Fed him up, de-ticked him and then he turned around and off he went into the darkness.
.
.
.
.
Until the following winter came. Then he decided that the feral way of life wasn't really for him anymore and he actually quite liked food, warmth etc etc. It took a few goes to get him to stay though. We had to lay a bed out in the middle of the floor then retreat upstairs before he would come though from the kitchen. Given time, he sort of became ours. You never really own them.
.
.
.
Until we had to have him put to sleep (we think he was hit by a car on one of his extended patrols. Anyway, he had a peaceful end and a very comfortable latter years.

<sigh>

Mom and Dad had a cat named Spunky. The cat was raised with two German Shepherds and behaved more like a dog then a cat. Loved to go on car rides with the GS dogs.

The cat was a very good hunter as well bringing offerings to Dad all the time. Rabbits, birds snakes and assorted small critters.
In parts 200S and Grand Vista and my motorcycles 2 CS BMW'S and one GS BMW.

Sold-32 Kymco scooters of various sizes this summer.

Stig & Sam the cat.
During a pretty low time, when the county was disputing my knee surgery, I used to sit on the patio in the snow feeling sorry for myself - when this yellow cat started hanging around. After a few days, she hopped up onto my lap - and curled up and went to sleep while I patiently explained to her that I do not care for cats...."at all!"
 "I am a D O G  person."

It turned very cold. I bought a heating pad, plugged it into the outlet, and built the cat a house on the porch with a heated bed..
After a stray dog cornered it in the house - it would no longer go in there. My sis-in law agreed to take it if I paid the Vet fees. Then I had to pay her monster electric bill (before her husband found out) because she used an electric space heater to warm the cat, 24/7, in her mud-room for 6 weeks.

"Sam", hey - what do I know about naming cats! -- eventually lived a long life on a farm after that winter.

Yeah, she was like some kind of therapy for me - to get over myself. (went to the Worker's Comp hearing - won my case & got my surgery - after limping around for 6 mos)

Re all of the above, yeah, they do that!  We could learn a lot from cats’ life philosophy.
