I go thru about 2 helmets a year, but buy lower priced if possible. GMAX made in Taiwan have worked for me for several years---good quality/fit/all day comfortable/fairly light weight---available in cop white. Size small works for me---med. in other brands ok for me.
Some testing today---bought $70 OF-17, build in face shield---works/comfortable/little heavy for me....but terrible riding into sun!! and in my case, in spite of black tape I put on top of shield
However reg GMAX 3/4 helmet $40 range with THEIR snap on fact shield is quieter! With little built visor much better riding into sun, and with shield in far up position does not interfere with sight---OF17 does.
So for long trips, will use reg 3/4 with their visor//snap on. gives me choice to use snap on bill if lots of slow riding in the day's riding....I really like to see what I might hit! Guess OF 17 will rest in my garage as spare.
