Teknoetre parts?
« on: January 02, 2021, 11:23:13 AM »
Was looking at doing a engine rebuild and came across a kit from Teknoetre parts from Italy.  Just want to know if they are any good and have you used their parts?
In parts 200S and Grand Vista and my motorcycles 2 CS BMW'S and one GS BMW.

Sold-32 Kymco scooters of various sizes this summer.

@Kansas
A friend of mine who did/does motorcycle restoration since ages. He/we had very good experience with this company and parts they stock.
They have it back until seventies, particularely for italian brands. A lot of things for japanese motors too.
Here is P&P not a problem, since before COVID we went at least once a month to Austria where he lives. When he could not find a, let's say a rectifier, 90% they had it sent to me and...
Don't know whether they have a branch in US.
Happy and safe scootering, Ruffus

Thanks Ruffus,  LaPiccolo Racambi has a site on ebay where I can order parts from Italy. They have a complete rebuild kit for $460. plus $71. shipping. I have to replace a crankshaft in a People S 250 so might as well freshen up the engine.  I knew nothing about this company or where the parts were built and if they were any good.  Will price out what I need from my local Kymco dealer for comparison.

Almost all parts are made in China, even Kymco, Piaggio, BMW, and I've never had a problem with Chinese tech.  Prices are good (the photo shows a typical Kymco crankshaft at ~$125), and shipping is cheap and fast.  Searching on AliExpress takes a lot of time because they list literally billions of parts.  Here's a recent example: I needed gaskets for a Kymco 8F carburetor (100cc), not available in USA.  From Kymco France it was a $40 purchase plus $18 postage.  The complete carb from AliExpress including e-choke, fuel lines & fuel filter was $28 including shipping.  It was a Keihin CVK, not a Kymco 8F, but it fit & runs exactly. I don't promise success, but it's worth the time to search.
