Really appreciate a warm public restroom....
« on: January 22, 2021, 03:47:13 PM »

Temp at 23°F, according to the gas station sign, so really appreciated the clean, warm rest room and the hot water in the sink after the ride out this morning. (hand sanitizer stationed just outside)

The ride home often presents some great sunrises.

This is the 4th winter of riding with this 6Ah battery - thinking I might like to put in a new one.

Odometer passed through 7,000 miles coming home.

Stig I rode to Lindsborg and back Wednesday and Thursday for lunch (pictures on what are doing this winter thread) courtesy of Iahawk.  It was around 50F and the only part of me that got chilled was my face from wearing a open face helmet during the 35 mile round trip. I can't imagine riding any distance in 20F temperatures.  How many miles round trip are your morning coffee runs on average?
In parts 200S and Grand Vista and my motorcycles 2 CS BMW'S and one GS BMW.

Sold-32 Kymco scooters of various sizes this summer.

Well, my coffee shop is due south of me - but I start out by heading straight north for a couple of miles, past my in-laws house.
I wind back through town @20mins later, then head south and out into the boonies for my favorite part of the ride.
Wood smoke, cows, farms, Brian the Cow, 'One-Sheep One-Cow' farm, the B & B, the downhill scary bit, my kid's old high school, late brother's house......into the village past "We buy dead stock" Joe's house and the mural of the late youngster whom my daughter and I befriended.

As the squirrel flies it is right at 20 miles to my destination.
As the LIKE200i flies it is just under 34 miles, one way.
I leave home at 5:30AM and pull in across the street from Dino's just before he opens at 6:45AM.
The ride is an hour+ each way. But must add in time on the road-side taking pix, scratching, blowing my nose, etc.
I'm easily distracted.....

I am outside for the duration of the outing - save the few I'm in Dino's with the Liar's Bunch - which totals @ 3 & 3/4 hours.
And, yes - i am usually thoroughly chilled by the time I get home....but I never regret the ride!

I spent many days and hours out of doors during my 30 years with the state. Leaving for work at 5:30AM. So I am used to a frozen face - just need to keep my hands, chest and head warm.

My route is entirely determined by the state of the pavement (a habit quickly learned due to the new LIKE's typically poor scooter suspension) , and the posted speed.

Secret to riding in cold= proper clothes, feather stuff under.  Pro snow mobil stuff does well, except not road waterproof.  If not wet "Moon Boots" work well.   Day long ride in snow your feet might get wet!   in Europe For Elephant Rally I often took my 150cc Vespa----easy to handle in snow/ice.   MZ Sidecar outfit better---best in the 1950''s---BMW R51/3, Steib S-350 or was it 500...forgot.  Heinrich fairing, uppers and lowers with lap blanket LaCrosse  zipper overshoes, various glove/mitts combos.
