The  break-in specifics of course are found in the owner's manual. But, some riders, counter staff, parts guys and salesmen "know better".....

Major - THIS is a pretty good video about break ins...really good. I think you'll appreciate it. They actually take 2 identical builds and break them in COMPLETELY differently...then they completely tore them down to get SOLID data on the differences.

The results REALLY surprised me.

Hope youll have a look

From what I've read from other owners on the ADV Rider forum the so called "break in period" is the first 180 miles when you "should" ride moderately. First oil change for USA models is at 600 miles. This is indicated in the USA owner manual service interval chart. The first interval is a one time check for bolts and other stuff to be as they should (tight and torqued properly). After that you should be able to let her rip.

Sure - seen those. Thanks :)
Always wondered how the conversation would go if this fellow brought his results to the table with 3 fellows in white coats in a conference room at BMW. (or Honda, Suzuki, Kymco, Yamaha, etc.)

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.
