I have a 2008 or 2009 Kymco 250 people which i literally bought from a barn. It was demi-assembled. In my other post i detailed finding an unerdsized jet in the carburetor. Its always made a really funny clunking noise when going over curbs. I traced this to rotten silencer internals. Trying to find a replacement exhaust system is like trying to find rocking horse manure. Its just not out there. When i did find an OEM part i was quoted over $400. So, heres the story of how i cobbled i replacement together.
First i bought a generic silencer for $50 from AliExpress.
Then i bought a Piaggio MP3 125 cc middle pipe for $20 - also from Ali express . Then to make it all work a 38mm to 32mm exhaust gasket.
I didn't plan on the overhang so have to ger creative on an exhaust hanger. It needs to be 70mm deep and 50mm long. If you have any ideas let me know. It spunds a bit too loud for my tastes but functions. The best part about it is the weight saving. The scoot is much easier to move around the garage, to park and to ride.
