Lowe's and that 10% Veteran's discount
« on: April 19, 2021, 01:46:50 AM »
Went by Lowe's today to return an electric range cord.
While I was there the young lady saw that I qualified for the 10% discount which I could not use via an Internet purchase of the new stove a few weeks ago.
She gave me the discount on the whole transaction and put $78 back on my card!
I don't often look for this stuff....but Lowe's makes it pretty easy after you show them your DD-214 one time.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

What a nice lady and what a great store policy. They should be used heavily and appreciated for it!

Embarrassed that I forgot to mention this....
The sales ladies always say, "thank you for your service" as you're stepping away with your purchase.

(First time it happened: Smiling and looping her arm in mine - my daughter said, "you didn't hear what she said, did you Padre' ?" {she knows my hearing is poor in my L ear} then she told me. I've been "Padre" for yrs now - ever since her high school Spanish classes with Mrs. Pancake. I kid you not - her name was "Pancake"....also was my daughter's softball coach)

Lowe's in Crossville, TN also provides marked parking places for veterans.

This is one of the reasons I also generally shop more at Lowe's than other similar stores.

Several years ago I signed up for a "My Lowe's" account online and was able to add my military details to that account. Doing that you can order online and get your military discount when you order stuff via Internet purchasing. I do this a lot and just recently ordered treated lumber online to be delivered by truck to my home and got my discount.

Another reason is that there is a Lowe's less than 1.5 miles from my home and they also have Veterans Preferred Parking spaces. I'm waiting for someone to complain when I ride my scooter there and park in one of those spots (only when buying small stuff like paint or refrigerator filters, etc).
