LIKE 200i underbelly brace?
« on: May 05, 2021, 07:05:19 PM »
Dear LIKE 200i owners,
on my LX, MY 2013, I do have a piece of metal
(pls see pic) which I do NOT have on my "regular" Like, MY 2010.
It keeps the mainstand stop-rubber from touching its CVT underbelly.
My Q.: Is this part only on LXes or has my predesessor simply lost it from my regular Like, MY 2010.
Could not find it an parts- catalogue.
Happy and safe scootering, Ruffus

Yeah, you're scooter lost it. Probably left off after a servicing. My neighbor owns 2 Like200i's, a red one and a black one. This part is on both. Their scoots are maybe 4 yrs old.
Well, there you have your latest project!😊

@Stig, txs so much.
Yes, there is some material to make such an item, available in my shop. Will post result soon.
It cannot be, such a "naked" underbelly😀.

And YES, there was a piece of INOX just so hanging around in my storage.
But I could not bear with all right angles of this strictly functionell OEM guard. Does not mesh with scoots cheeks.
Since we are here in Italy, where estetic clearly prevails before function,  it had to be beautified, smoothed and rounded.

Ruffus,
Well done on the City Grips!  Great tire on the LIKE200i, yes?
Also, why do you suppose the Kymco part has the two 'dimples' ?
Curious....

So, you have two fully running LIKE200i's?
I like the LIKE!
Can we see side-beside pix of your pair?
Pix out-and-about in Italy - always welcome!
Thanks, Stig
(wondering what will be next from Italy...) ;)

Txs,
@Stig, yes those City Grips doing well on the LIKE, though, I have to admit, I'm not riding that much at rain or other "nuisances".
This dimples on its guard are reinforcement structures, like in  metal-sheet constructions. This brace is mild steel, not more than SAE "D", and need not to be more, it's an "in-between".
(pls see pic)
Side by side pics have to wait a little because I ordered in my juvenile foolishness METZELER ME7 tyres for the blue one in Germany, 3 days delivery promised, waiting now since 2 weeks for and one more week. So its without wheels on the scooterlift and I"m too lazy to put sparewheels....

But another issue. I was curious how KOSO square CVT gliders would perform. They are very similar to TECH PÜLLEY, nicely finished and precise on a hundreth of a gram. But has to wait until tyres arrive, too. Will report.

Ruffus, I'm glad you have the skills, time and desire to continue to work on and 'tweak' your scooter. Please keep us informed with your new tires and roller updates!

Those KOSO's look like Dr Pulley knock-offs.

Are they less expensive?

Thanks much for the LIKE pix! Kinda partial to the blue one, though. My 'eye' just prefers the factory look - rather than custom stuff. (and yes, I too prefer the original look (seat, mirrors and blue top case) of my LIKE-LX before I had to change the seat and mirrors. No choice on those 2 modifications. I couldn't ride on that stock seat, & couldn't see with the stock mirrors. Top case had to go because I wanted more rear lighting because I ride in the dark every ride!)

Stig

FYI- that pretty seat, blue top case and stock mirrors are safely stored away in mint condition --- for the day my recall notice arrives. :)

'course I will,  I'm glad being able to contribute a little.
Txs @Iahawk and Stig.
Yes, those KOSO square rollers (!?) look very "copy" and are here in Italy about $10,-. Let's see how they do and last. Like I said, want to try.
My original parts are stashed away too, but like to experiment with different setups.
Thinking of John Gs, Dedees and others age,
you will have to wait for a long time for your recall.
