Ruffus  kind of surprised where you live  the meca of scooters that anyone would bat a eye being seen with a scooter rider.  My neighbor a loyal HD rider would not be seen riding with a scooter.  I have to admit in my youth I made fun of them as well.  Kind of funny how time changes your opinion.
In parts 200S and Grand Vista and my motorcycles 2 CS BMW'S and one GS BMW.

Sold-32 Kymco scooters of various sizes this summer.

I couldn't give a flying fig what anyone else thinks of my scoot. Truth be told, most of those motorcycle guys don't want to admit how cool our scoots are so they make fun of them to help them feel better about themselves. I hope it helps...

Shopping with my daughter the other day....me, a shirt; daughter looking for summer dresses.
COVID had all the fitting rooms closed save for one....which had a line of women.

I showed daughter my new shirt, in the car.
"Did you try it on?"

Honey I tried on 8 shirts for over 45 mins....and walked to a mirror in the dress section each time.

"Dad, you were taking off your shirt in the middle of the store!!?"

"Honey, I ride a scooter in the Land of F-150's!. They're lucky I wasn't needing pants!"

I completely agree with you. My dad use to have a saying, (I'll give a dam what other people think when they start paying the bills).  My favorite quote is by Eleanor Roosevelt (You wouldn't worry so much about  what other people think of you if you realized how seldom they do).

I'm having too much fun on the scoot to care what anyone else thinks.
It's my belief that those who scoff at scooters have never ridden one.  If they had, they would't be dissing them.
2014 BV 350  "IndiGO" (fast, strong and tireless)
2006 Honda Rebel 250  "Snow Leopard" (stealthy, agile and durable)
2018 Lance Cali Classic 200i  "Black Panther" (smooth, nimble, quiet and quick)
2016 Wolf V-50 (sold)

Wanted a Kymco, ended up w a Lance, but that forum is inactive, so I am here

When I was in high school a friend of mine had a Lambretta 150 LI which I got to ride quite often. I really liked it but being a teen aged boy in the 1960s I rode my motorcycles and enjoyed them. That said I saw how well engineered the Lambretta was but didn't buy one. When I started riding again a few years ago I decided to just get the scooter I always wanted and have enjoyed every minute. My Like 200i has given me many miles of smiles.  ;)
