C o o l  morning!

Stig
This morning I had coffee & a lengthy chat with Joe -the owner of this 1951 BMW.
He started putting it together in 1966.
In those days Yellow Springs was a bustling college town full of young Antioch students.
(and Joe couldn't have been much older - in 1966)
A student from New England sold him the frame and engine - and Joe spent years bringing the rest of it together.
I mentioned that I can always hear him coming as it rumbles around the corner.....he said with this gearing these things really love to idle along at low speeds. "Runs out of revs at @ 60mph."
I shared my recent experience with our one local dealer. Joe said they wanted $600 to put a new rear tire on his BMW - tire and labor - if he rode in.
I also showed him the spare Colby tire valve I carried now. He said, this was good to know! Told me he has tools and an air hose - if I ever need them. ( I pass his house coming into the village)
Both of us being less than forward - it has taken us 5 or 6 years to reach this point in a relationship :)

Stig the person that got me into Romeo rides has a collection of BMW air heads.  Wednesday ride there was a R 100 air head parked next to me on one side and a V-rod parked on the other.
In parts 200S and Grand Vista and my motorcycles 2 CS BMW'S and one GS BMW.

Sold-32 Kymco scooters of various sizes this summer.
