Shocking Question
« on: June 23, 2021, 04:38:46 PM »
Just purchased a Gears Racing Shock H2 for my 2021 Kymco AK550. It came with an external gas reservoir attached. My question/problem is that this external reservoir is in line with the eye bolt and I can’t get the bolt in the space between the eyebolt and the external reservoir. If the reservoir could be adjusted up or down I could get the eye bolt.  DOES ANYONE know if this external canister can be turned so I can get my
Eye bolt in?

Thanks

Stig / Major Tom

At $1K,  I'd ask one of the sellers.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Found that I will have to use a shorter bolt that will fit between the canister and the eyelet on the shock body.
The canister cannot be adjusted.  😩

That's a blow.  Out of interest, was the shock listed as compatible with the AK550?  If so, then surely to have the option of returning it for a refund?  Not sure I'd be comfortable using a non-standard shorter bolt out of concern it may not be up to the job?

Do let us know what you decide to do.

Doesn't fit exactly---sent it back.   Remember regardless of what you do to scooter suspension---in end you still have scooter.

The shock I purchased was specified as for the AK550.  After several communiques with GEARS RACING, which is in Taiwan, they have sent me instructions as to ow to install this shock.  I will find out Friday, a I have an appoint at my Kymco dealer to get a few things looked at including installing the shock.😊
