As written on the header I had the pleasure to find a rotten main ground cable on my sold LIKE 200i.
But from beginning:
Yesterday the desperate new owner of my recently sold LIKE called me, being stranded with an NO-start issue at a gas station appr. 20km from me. He told me it "clicks" only when he tries to start. Okay, I suspected battery low because of short trips only. Spare battery, few tools, cables in my scoot and off I go.
Arriving there, jumpstart his scoot, runs perfectely well, starter turns like ever...
Told him, to do a longer ride to charge his battery, and we part. Ten minutes later he calls me, "went for a leak, switched off and now, NO start".
Okay, I came there, cables out, tried to jumpstart, no cranking at all.
Hmmmh, suspected starter relais. Started direct with cables, minus at motor and plus to starter motor +.
Cranks like always, so there must be a cablebreak somewhere.
Went to my workshop, changed starter relais to exclude the fault there, NO start.
Now just by chance I pulled at this fat ground cable which goes from ground point RH frame to a bolt close to our LIKES starter motor, AND had the end of this cable in my hand. It was just by happenstance sometimes touching its ground point.
At THAT moment starting worked, at others failed.
Cure to this is, take this "cableshoe" off, open it, take the rotten part out and shove a healthy piece of this ground cable in it, close this cableshoe again.
Put some copperpaste on it, fix it.
Pls see pics.
-ground cable completely corroded tru
-it's soldered at the end, might cause this corrosion and vibrations might do the rest
